The Almighty, Omniscient God, has endowed human beings with a great gift of acquiring knowledge and with the power of reasoning. The gift has to be developed and utilized by every individual and hence education is important. Education has always been more valuable than money. It is said that when a man is educated, he can win any war. All this brings home to us, that education is life itself.
Mount St. Mary’s is still in its infancy, and yet making a steady progress in the field of education. The serene and eco-friendly ambience of the school provides a conducive atmosphere for its students to remain well focused on their value-based education, as Mount SMC strives for the all-round development of every student entrusted to its care.
It is my pleasure to rejoin this temple of learning. I firmly believe in the words of the great leader Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. Today life has taken a U-turn due to the Covid-19 pandemic which has completely changed the way we live. Almost all spheres of our lives have been altered, but unfortunately, one sphere has suffered the most, and that is education. But everything has a positive and negative impact; during the lockdown Family bonds are strengthened, parents got more time to spend with their children and we have become more tech savvy.
In the words of Albert Einstein, “Education is not the learning of facts, it’s rather the training of the mind to think”. Education is knowledge imbued with wisdom and ethics. It develops the personality of the students, moulds their character and develops mental skills to help them cope with problems and challenges of the complex world of today. It helps to shift their attention from self-centeredness to other-centeredness. Our aim in educating the students is not only to make them successful in life but also conscious of their duties and responsibilities towards the society. It is with this vision Mount St. Mary’s Convent College, Lalpur was established in 2015 to offer quality education to its students.
Dear parents, you are the most strengthening power in shaping the future of children. Your consistent support empowers us to do more. I am grateful to you for placing your trust in us.
I am confident that the Marians will make themselves stronger day by day, adding a new leaf to the grandeur of the school.
